I mean, if they want to ban you- they’ll ban you, but it would be a d*** move on their part. This is a grey area that game developers like to claim as their domain, but it isn’t, really. so that the server thinks that I ran from (0,0) to (999,999) in under a second without teleport. to have a third party program manipulate it for my own viewing, but I’m in no way allowed to manipulate the packets sent to the server, e.g. ![]() Again, because they cannot be certain if it’s a modification or corruption.įurthermore, I am fully within my right to read packets sent to me and access my own memory, e.g. In which case, you will simply not be allowed to log in. Modification to the client should in theory also work online, like swapping out models, textures, and sounds, lest, of course, they do a hash check whenever you log in. So you might at best be frequently annoyed by files being overwritten. You could’ve modified it, or it could’ve gotten corrupt. It shouldn’t ever result in a ban because there’s no way for them to tell what has actually happened. It most likely does a minor hash check every now and again, and if the hash is incorrect it will assume that the files are corrupt and attempt to redownload.
